Perth race fit for King

IRISH raider King Roonah is fancied to take Perth's Northern Marine Underwriters Scotland Handicap Chase today.

Gordon Elliott's charge looked set for victory at this track last month only to crash out at the final fence while he failed to sparkle when sent over hurdles on a retrieval mission just two days later. The six-year-old has been given a little break since then and he should be much fresher for this decent heat.

Meanwhile, promising conditional jockey Hadden Frost has been appointed stable jockey for Henrietta Knight.

Knight, trainer of triple Gold Cup winner Best Mate and the brilliant Edredon Bleu, has not employed a number one rider for her West Lockinge Farm yard since the retirement of Jim Culloty in 2005. Frost is the son of jump jockey Jimmy and has been associated with David Pipe's stable.
