Perpignan revive interest in Mike Blair and Rory Lawson

OFFICIALS at Perpignan have renewed their interest in Scottish scrum halves Mike Blair and Rory Lawson after their preferred target Tomas O’Leary signed for London Irish, writes Colin Renton.

Perpignan’s list of options also features All Blacks Piri Weepu and James Cowan, although wage levels are believed to be a barrier. The two Scots are understood to be affordable, as is a third candidate, Josh Valentine, an Australia international, who is currently playing at Narbonne.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh stand-off Phil Godman could also be heading across the channel, with the Parisian outfit Racing Metro keen to secure his services.
