Penicuik hit four in 2-2 draw

Penicuik Athletic drew 2-2 with East Seniors Premier Division side Lothian Thistle in last night's pre-season friendly and scored all four goals in the process.

Lothian took the lead when Penicuik's player/manager Craig Meikle headed the ball into his own net before Ryan Gay notched a spectacular brace to put Penicuik ahead then Gary Kennedy also headed the ball behind his own goalkeeper.

Fraser Ogilvie, Lothian's joint manager, said: "It was a high tempo and very open pre- season game which was stretched at times. We have a very young side and I was happy with the run out."

Easthouses Lily beat amateur outfit Boca Seniors 3-1 with goals from Ryan Curran, Johnny Baigrie and a trialist.

"I was able to give some trialists a chance and overall it was a good exercise," said the Easthouses boss, Dave McQueenie. "Games like this are about fitness levels and the boys are shaping up well."
