Paul O'Hara misses out on Challenge Tour

Paul O'Hara's hopes of promotion to next year's European Challenge Tour were dashed in the closing round of the Fulda EPD Tour championship in Germany.

The Colville Park rookie, sharing fourth at the start of the day, closed with a two-over 74 for a three-under 213 and slipped down to 12th place behind Benjamin Miarka, who won by four shots with a 204.

O'Hara needed to gatecrash the top-five on the order of merit to secure a Challenge Tour card.

The Scot, who fell at the first hurdle of the European Tour's qualifying school at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire just over a week ago, will now have to spend another season in pro golf's third tier.
