Paksi toil to draw in league match

HEARTS' Europa League opponents Paksi SE had to battle to salvage a 1-1 draw in their Hungarian league match yesterday at home to Lombard Papa.

Paksi, who also drew 1-1 with Hearts in the first leg of their qualifier last week and will visit Tynecastle for the return leg on Thursday, fell behind after 29 minutes before rallying after the break and forcing an equaliser through their veteran midfielder Gabor Vayer.

Paksi, who had won one and lost one of their two opening league matches of the new Hungarian domestic campaign, could not fashion a winner, and remain close to the foot of the table.
