Pain for Oban sides as Beauly march on

SHINTY: Resurgent Beauly hope Saturday’s progress in Shinty’s Camanachd Cup can kick-start their push for a place in the Orion Group Premiership.

Marc MacLachlin, David MacLean and Ryan Tillman scored in the 3-1 victory over Oban Celtic.

“Hopefully this will be a turning point for us,” said club president, David Calder. “We are not out of contention in the league and there is huge potential at the club. The key for us will be to develop that mental toughness you need to be successful.”

It was a poor day for Oban sides with Oban Camanachd also losing 4-2 to Glasgow Mid Argyll. This season’s final will take place in Oban but there will be no home comforts for the local sides.
