O'Toole impresses

CHAUNCEY O'Toole boosted his quest to earn a full-time deal with Glasgow by marking a trial appearance for the Warriors with two tries.

Sean Lineen's men crossed the line 11 times in the 71-7 pre-season demolition of Dundee HSFP at Mayfield. And with several of his back-row men on the casualty list, the coach could snap up Canadian Test star O'Toole as emergency cover for the start of the Magners League campaign.

Lineen said: "It was a very worthwhile exercise. We saw the introduction of a number of our new lads and we got many of the outcomes we'd been looking for - technique at contact and the defensive side of the game. Everything else was a bonus really."
