Six Nations 2021: how to watch England v Scotland rugby match, what TV channel is it on and when does coverage start

The start of the Six Nations 2021 is right around the corner, with the opening round of fixtures seeing England take on Scotland.

Both nations have named their squads for the upcoming championships which organisers say is still expected to go ahead amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The women’s and the under-20s tournaments have been postponed due to the deadly virus, which also delayed the conclusion of the men’s 2020 championships.

Here’s when it takes place, kick off time and how to watch the game.

When is England v Scotland?

Scotland take on England on Saturday 6 February.

It is the second match of the 2021 Six Nations, following the earlier kickoff of Italy v France on the same day.

Wales and Ireland do battle in their opening match of the tournament on Sunday 7 February to complete the first weekend's action.

What time does England v Scotland kickoff?

Scotland's match against England is scheduled to start at 4.45pm.

The kickoff times have been structured so that fans can watch all three of the opening round of games.

Italy v France starts at 2.15pm. Sunday's fixture between Wales v Ireland kicks off at 3pm.

Where is England v Scotland taking place?

England v Scotland will take place at Twickenham Stadium, in London, England.

The stadium has the capacity to hold 82,000 people but there will be no spectators in the ground due to current Covid-19 restrictions.

Italy v France is being staged at Stadio Olimpico, in Rome, Italy. Wales v Ireland is set to take place at Principality Stadium, in Cardiff, Wales.

What TV channel is England v Scotland on?

All of the 2021 Six Nations are being screened on terrestrial television. ITV has the rights to the two fixtures being played on the opening Saturday and BBC have Sunday's action.

This means England v Scotland is being shown live on ITV, after the conclusion of the Italy v France fixture. Wales v Ireland is on BBC.

What time does England v Scotland coverage start?

Coverage of England v Scotland will start at 4.15pm and run through to 7pm on ITV.

Italy v France coverage begins at 1.30pm.

Since ITV have both matches on Saturday 6 February, it's likely that rugby will eat up a good chunk of the channel’s afternoon scheduling.

Who are ITV’s pundits for England v Scotland?

This year's line up of pundits is yet to be confirmed by ITV.

Yet in the past the channel has had a star-studded line up providing insight and knowledge about the game and its inner workings.

Sir Ian McGeechan, the former Scotland and British and Irish Lions coach, has been a regular in the past, as well as World Cup winners Jonny Wilkinson and Sir Clive Woodward.

Mark Pougatch, Jill Douglas and Martin Bayfield have all presented ITV's rugby coverage in previous years, with match commentary coming from Nick Mullins, Miles Harrison or Martin Gillingham.

The commentators are often joined by a selection of former pros, including Scott Hastings and Ben Kay.
