Scots jockey Jason Hart targets Hamilton feature

Kaywhyekelly likely to be favoured in Flower Of Scotland EBF Fillies Handicap

Jason Hart is after more success on Kayewhykelly in the feature race at Hamilton Park.

The Hawick-born jockey and his partner face six rivals in the Flower Of Scotland EBF Fillies’ Handicap over an extended mile.

Trained in Yorkshire by Julie Camacho, the three-year-old is likely to go off favourite after her wide-margin victory at Haydock early last month.

Hart said: “She’s gone up a fair bit for that win as you would expect and the step up to a mile suited her well. She kept going all the way to the line and we were just beaten in a photo finish in a nursery at Hamilton last year.”

Of the opposition, Keith Dalgleish-trained Gometra Ginty returned to form with close second at Haydock Park over seven furlongs last time, while Alistair Whillans’ mare Sienna Dream, third on three recent starts at Ayr, tackles the longest trip since her racecourse bow over 1m 1f at Musselburgh in 2017.

The card gets under way with the Whysettle It Networks Novices Stakes for two-year-olds over the straight five furlongs. Three of the six juveniles are having their first day at school and experienced Burning Cash, trained by sprint king Paul Midgley, sets a good standard with his impressive seven-length romp at Chepstow a month ago and was a decent second to a smart rival over this same course and distance in June.

At Kempton, Publicist can grab the attention with victory in the Every Race Live On RacingTV Nursery Handicap at Kempton.

in her three starts to date, but may be getting the hang of things in time for a breakthrough success.

Publicist found herself in a decent event on her racecourse debut in June, but was relatively well-supported and fared with promise before weakening into fourth over six furlongs at Newmarket. That race was won by a subsequent Royal Ascot runner-up.

Publicist did not get home at Doncaster, letting down those backing her into even-money favourite, but then produced a late run on into third after starting slowly on her first all-weather and handicap start at Lingfield. On that basis, Kempton’s seven furlongs could well be spot on for her.

The card gets under way with division one of the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap, and the consistent Alvaro may cash in on his return to the all-weather. Michael Wigham’s gelding made an encouraging start to his summer at Newmarket and has since twice finished runner-up.
