Andy Murray wins through to quarter-finals of Italian Challenger event
The Scot beat the Italian 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 52 minutes. He will now face Blaz Rola of Slovenia in the last eight on Friday.
Murray had hoped to be playing in the Australian Open this week but was ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19, which he claimed he caught while training at the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton. He was critical of social distancing measures at the centre.

Hide AdHe recovered but was unable to find a “workable quarantine” which would have allowed him to compete in Melbourne in this year’s first Grand Slam event.
The 33-year-old, who fought back to beat German Maximilian Marterer in the round of 32, has faced Rola once before, beating him comfortably in straight sets in the second round at Wimbledon in 2014.
