O'Hara poised for Tour test

PAUL O'Hara will be hoping to carry his early season form into stage one of the PGA EuroPro Tour's qualifying school at Slaley Hall in Northumberland today.

The Colville Park rookie, who won the SGU's order of merit in 2009, notched three top-ten finishes on the German EPD Tour last month and will head into this week's 54-hole contest in confident mood.

O'Hara, one of 22 Scots in action in Northumberland, is joined in the field by Comrie's Wallace Booth, who will be aiming to make it third time lucky at a q-school following early exits at both the European and Asian Tour qualifiers in recent months. Clydebank brothers Scott and John Henry also compete alongside former Scottish Amateur champions Kevin McAlpine and Graham Rankin, a European Tour player in 2001.
