No sign of Gascoigne at Garforth

PAUL GASCOIGNE was not present last night to watch Garforth Town, the non-league club where he is reportedly set to be appointed as manager.

Gascoigne is believed to be on the verge of joining the West Yorkshire outfit but was nowhere to be seen as they played at Mossley in the Evo Stik First Division North League. Although it had initially been claimed that the appointment was finalised, talks remain ongoing between the 43-year-old and Garforth owner Simon Clifford. Gascoigne's only previous experience of management came in a 39-day spell at Kettering in 2005. It came to an end when he was sacked by owner Imraan Ladak.
