Nicolson launches share scheme and Texas Scramble to boost campaign

GREG NICOLSON wants to share his experience as the Capital ace bids to make a “significant step up the golfing ladder” this year.

The Mortonhall course-record holder is in his second season as a touring pro and has devised a variety of ways to fund his campaign.

It will involve a combination of events on three circuits around the world – the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Tour, the Asian Development Tour and the PGA EuroPro Tour.

“I have gathered some great international experience that I hope will stand me in good stead for my target of a significant step up the golfing ladder in 2013.”

To try and help achieve that, Nicolson has launched a new share scheme and also organised a golf day at Mortonhall, where he cut his teeth in the game.

The event is being held on Friday, May 10, when it will cost £150 for a team of three to take part in a Texas Scramble, with 20 per cent of all proceeds being donated to MacMillan Cancer Support.

“With the rising expense of touring, I need to raise funds to support my golfing dream and I hope to do this via a range of opportunities,” he said.
