Nick O'Hern takes lead at Shell Houston Open

AUSTRALIA'S Nick O'Hern took the mid-round lead of the Shell Houston Open after shooting seven under at Texas' Redstone Golf Club.

O'Hern birdied the first and added three more in the outward nine. He then started his inward nine with a birdie before picking up strokes on the par threes at 14 and 16. Four men were tied for second with rounds of five under. Steve Stricker, John Rollins, Nathan Green and Brendan Steele and were the men who signed for rounds of 67. European Ryder Cup captain Jose Maria Olazabal had a day to forget, closing five over.
