Newtongrange defy gravity
Bonnyrigg were looking for a win which would have taken them to top spot, but it wasn't to be. They had the better of the first half but any chances they created were dealt comfortably by Star keeper Gary O'Connor. Then just as Bonnyrigg looked like keeping it level until the interval Newtongrange made the breakthrough through Paul Forbes.
This gave Newtongrange all the confidence they needed and they enjoyed the bulk of the second-half pressure. They pushed forward and almost grabbed a second but Aaron Somerville's effort hit the bar. Bonnyrigg struggled to find any rhythm but had a good chance when sub Kevin Moffat forced a great save from O'Connor at the expense of a corner. Newtongrange's defence held firm from the set piece, though, and claimed the points.
