New women's cricket manager

CRICKET Scotland has appointed its first-ever Women's Cricket Manager.

Kari Anderson will coach the Scotland Women's national team, while also being responsible for developing the club structure in both girls' and women's cricket.

Cricket Scotland's performance director Andy Tennant said: "No-one understands the development of the women's game better than Kari. Her track record as Scotland's most successful female cricketer, her undoubted coaching ability and her experience as a Cricket Development Officer make her ideally placed to fulfil this new role successfully."

Anderson, who learned the game at Stirling County averages nearly 33 with the bat in 67 games for Scotland.

She said: "I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to drive the female game in Scotland forward."
