New-look sides meet in friendly

PENICUIK ATHLETIC, under the guidance of Craig Meikle and Bryan Ryrie, welcome East Seniors Premier Division side Lothian Thistle to Penicuik Park tonight in a pre-season friendly (kick-off 7pm).

Athletic have signed Robin Hay, Paul Riley, Michael McDermott, Grant Killen, Richard Campbell and Steve Robertson, while Lothian have introduced Raymond Walker, Craig Stewart, Scott Wallace, Lloyd Dignan, Mark Ellis, Alan McDonagh, Mark Kelly and Ean Grieve.

This will be Penicuik's first competitive game of their pre-season campaign while Lothian beat Leith Athletic Under-21s 7-0 at the weekend.

Thistle secretary Tom Allison said: "Everybody has been rejuvenated and is looking forward to the new season. Chic McAleavy and Fraser Lothian are the co-managers and already the players are looking very fit."

Easthouses Lily, from the East Seniors First Division, entertain Boca Seniors AFC at their Newbattle Complex (kick-off 7pm).
