New home for Faldo Series final

THE Faldo Series, one of the world's top junior events, is to culminate at Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland for the next three years. Its grand final, held last year in Brazil, is moving to the course six-time major winner Nick Faldo designed at the Co. Fermanagh resort, where Rory McIlroy is the touring professional.

McIlroy is a former member of Team Faldo and won the under-15 and under-17 titles in the Faldo Series, launched 14 years ago, in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

Other products of the Series, which is expected to see more than 5,000 boys and girls aged between 12 and 21 compete in around 30 events in over 25 countries this year, include Marc Warren and Nick Dougherty.

This year's Scottish qualifier will take place at The Roxburghe near Kelso on 23-24 June.
