Musselburgh blow for King

CHRIS KING, who helped Musselburgh win the East Region Premier Division last season, has been slapped on the transfer list by the Olivebank club, writes MARTIN DEMPSTER.

Manager David McGlynn is willing to listen to offers for the player, whose brother, Charlie, plays for Brechin. The shock development came on the same day that McGlynn secured the double loan signing of Tam Graham and Graeme Beveridge from Raith Rovers, where his uncle John is the manager.

After a bright start to their Super League campaign, Musselburgh have lost their last three outings, with McGlynn claiming his side are not being helped by a stop-start season. "We've had a game then had three weeks off, had another game then had another two weeks off," he said.

Musselburgh are away to Glenrothes tomorrow and the Fifers have picked up since former Bo'ness boss Paul McKinlay took over as manager, beating Whitburn in the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup a fortnight ago.

Midfielder Adam Nelson is serving a two-game ban, while Musselburgh will also be without winger Paul Tansy.
