Musselburgh 23 - 24 Selkirk: Selkirk in youth final

SELKIRK YC beat Musselburgh in a gripping Youth League Cup semi-final at Stoneyhill last night to set up a final against Stirling County at Murrayfield a week on Saturday.

A try by Selkirk's Kieran Monks, converted by Josh Welsh, were the only points of the first half. And Selkirk went 14-0 ahead early in the second half when Alan Smith crossed and Welsh added the points. But Musselburgh fought back to lead 18-17 after tries from Tom Hutchison and Ryan Gray and a penalty and conversion by Daniel Owenson, who had a late chance to win the game with a conversion after Callum Veitch countered Callum McColm's try for Selkirk, but it was not to be.

Scorers: Musselburgh - Tries Hutchison, Gray, Veitch. Cons: Owenson (2). Pens: Owenson (2). Selkirk YC - Tries: Monks, Smith, McColm. Cons: Welsh (3). Pen: Welsh.
