Murray's son part of the Hibee family

IAN MURRAY revealed today that he signed his baby son Lewis up to become a Hibs Kids member just hours after he was born.

Murray and wife Julie became parents for the first time in the summer and the Hibs defender hopes that their new addition will grow up supporting the Easter Road side. The 29-year-old, his father and grandfather were all Hibs fans and Murray is going to give his son every chance of being the next generation to become part of the family tradition.

Murray, who is likely to feature in a closed-doors game for Hibs against Dundee today, said: "I signed Lewis up for the Hibs Kids - he was born on the Thursday and I signed him up on the Friday. Unfortunately the new Hibs Kids t-shirt was a wee bit too big for him! Hopefully he will become a Hibs fan - that is the plan. But if he doesn't like football then that is no problem; I'm not going to push him into sport. My dad was a Hibs fan and so was his dad, so it is a family tradition and hopefully my son will also enjoy supporting the club."

The Easter Road side has around 3,000 youngsters signing up to be a Hibs Kid every year and the incentive is open to all fans under the age of 15.

Every season ticket holder under the age of 15 will now automatically enter the Hibs Kids programme for free, while non-season ticket holders can join Hibs Kids for 10 and members get the chance to meet the players and manager John Hughes. A new 'Lifetime Hibs Kids Membership' for 50 is also now available for young supporters to join and more information is available at www.hibernianfc.co.uk or by calling: 0844 844 1875.

Meanwhile Stoke City have been linked with a 1million move for Sol Bamba.
