Motorsport: Weston in fine form ahead of British rally

ABERDEEN'S Dave Weston junior enjoyed the perfect warm-up for this week's British rally opener by winning the Border Counties Rally yesterday. The youngster took his first outright win in the Scottish championship in his 2010 Subaru Impreza.

He will be looking to make a big impression in the Bulldog Rally on Saturday.

Weston's time of 45 mins 44 secs saw him pip Shaun Sinclair, with David Bogie in third place.

Yesterday's results mean Alick Kerr of Bothwell, four points above Andy Horne of Inverness, leads the Scottish Championship.
