Motorsport: Gordon Shedden pipped for pole at Knockhill

Fifer Gordon Shedden will start on the front row of the grid for the first of today's British Touring Car Championship triple-header at Knockhill. But the 31-year-old Scot was only nudged off pole position in the final seconds of qualifying.

"Yeh, it's frustrating not to be on pole," the Dalgety Bay racer, whose Team Honda Civic was only 0.072 seconds slower than Alex MacDowall's Chevrolet, admitted, "but I'm up for the fight tomorrow.

"We proved through the practice sessions, when we topped the timesheets, that we have a fast car, so I'll be concentrating on getting ahead of Alex into the first corner and holding the lead."
