Edinburgh Monarchs Speedway Club are promising fans ‘speedway on demand’ with the launch of their brand new EMTV+ video service.

The first initiative of its kind in the world of speedway, EMTV+ is a new subscription service that allows fans to watch a choice of historic matches from across the last five decades, during which time the Monarchs have raced at both Powderhall Stadium and their current home at Armadale, West Lothian.

A spokesperson for the club says, "Thanks to the thoroughly committed efforts over many years of club historian Mike Hunter and the Edinburgh Speedway Videos team, What The Fork Monarchs possess an unparalleled selection of match footage stretching back through many decades. This enabled the popular EMTV:Rewind series last summer which gave inspiration to the new EMTV+ service."

The new service operates in the same vein as popular subscription services such as Netflix allowing subscribers to browse a wide selection of speedway content. For £4.99 a month, fans will be able to enjoy more than 100 hours of quality footage, including many classic matches featuring some of the best visiting riders and club legends to have graced the shale of both tracks.

Subscribers to EMTV+ can currently watch a curated range of matches from the 1987 and 1991 Powderhall seasons and the 2006 and 2008 Armadale seasons, showcasing classic action including the club’s second ever League title winning year. New seasons will be added regularly with at least four full seasons available at all times.

All matches on EMTV+ will also be available to rent individually for 30 days without subscribing, priced at £2.49 each.

Edinburgh Monarchs were founded in 1947, originally racing at Old Meadowbank Stadium until 1968. They returned to the Capital in 1977 when they raced at Powderhall until 1995. The team have raced at their current home Armadale since 1997.
