Motorcycling: Trial craved by the Bells

GOREBRIDGE motorcycling brothers Liston and Lewis Bell are poised to compete in next week's Scottish Six Days Trial, the world's oldest surviving motorbike trial competition.

The event, which starts on Monday and sees 273 competitors endure a test of riding skill and balance over 30 challenging sections each day, returns to Lochaber in the Highlands for its centenary edition.

Liston, 22, and Lewis, 20, have competed in the competition eight times between them and both won the Best Scottish Newcomer award aged 17.

Liston, a plumber by trade, said: "I have been going to the Scottish Six Days with the family every year since I was six weeks old so being part of the centenary edition is very special. It would be great to get my first top-50 placing this year."
