Montrose edge out Raith as Peterhead beat Falkirk

IN the all-SFL weekend clashes Montrose beat Raith 1-0, Peterhead saw off Falkirk 2-0, Annan won 3-1 at Stenhousemuir, and Queen's Park held Albion Rovers 1-1.

Martin Boyle gave Montrose victory, while Rory McAllister scored twice against Falkirk. Stenhousemuir led through Andy Rodgers, but Annan hit back through Aaron Muirhead and Bryan Felvus (2). Scott Chaplain put Rovers ahead against Queen's Park, but Tony Quinn grabbed a late equaliser.

Cove beat Stirling Albion 2-1, Paul Emslie and Lee Ritchie overhauling Lewis Bonar's opener. Dundee sunk hosts Formartine 5-1 with Jake Hyde netting a double. Brechin saw off Buckie 4-0 and Arbroath beat Keith 4-1.

Injuries saw 52-year-old Elgin manager Ross Jack don his boots during his side's 3-1 win over Fraserburgh. Cowdenbeath hammered Spartans 9-0 with Greg Stewart and Mark McKenzie hitting braces, while Tommy Stewart earned a 1-1 draw for Partick against Fleetwood. Clyde lost 3-0 to Whitehill and Stranraer lost 3-2 to Threave. Alloa won the six-team Oban Tournament.
