Montolivo prepares for 'game of his life'

FIORENTINA captain Riccardo Montolivo has described tonight's Champions League meeting with Bayern Munich at the Artemio Franchi stadium as the most important game of his life.

The Florence club are aiming to reach the quarter-finals of Europe's elite club competition for the first time since 1970. And Italy international Montolivo is determined to make up for a first leg which saw Fiorentina lose 2-1 in Munich. "This is truly the game of our lives," he said.

"We will bring out all the anger that we have carried since the first leg at the Allianz Arena on 17 February. We want to bring all of that on the pitch and enter the history books, not only for us but for all our fans."

The hosts will be without striker Adrian Mutu and defender Massimo Gobbi, both suspended.

"In Europe we have done well and we have to continue on this path," added Montolivo.
