Michael Stewart bids to win deal at Leeds

Michael Stewart is bidding to reignite his career back in England after joining Championship side Leeds Untied on trial.

The 29-year-old was due to play in a training ground friendly at the club's Thorp Arch base yesterday in the hope of impressing manager Simon Grayson. "We'll see how things go," said Grayson

Stewart returned to Scotland in January after negotiating his release from Genclerbirligi just six months into a two-year contract when the Turkish club refused to pay his wages for the time he was sidelined following ankle surgery.

The midfielder last week trained with former Hearts team-mate Steven Pressley's Falkirk and played in a bounce game for the Bairns against Hibs to boost his fitness levels.
