McGinn wary of Icelandic dangermen

Stephen McGinn admits being tagged favourites to overcome Iceland in their European Championship play-off has made Scotland Under-21s' task even more difficult.

Billy Stark's youngsters escaped some of the bigger nations when the draw was made and the Watford midfielder knows fans will be expecting a victory over the two legs.

But, speaking ahead of the first match in Reykjavik tonight, McGinn said: "It actually makes the tie a bit more difficult. If Germany came out of the hat, we would have been massive underdogs.

"But Iceland topped a group containing Germany and they are a very good side. We watched a few videos of them and they look extremely dangerous. If we were to take them lightly in any way, they'd put us out.

"It will be an extremely difficult tie. You need to be a good side to get to this stage and they have players who play for some big clubs. One of them has just moved to Hoffenheim for more than 6.5?million and nine of them have apparently been called back from the first team just to play in the tie.

"We know how difficult it will be and we will need to be at our best to get through the tie. One of their main strengths is scoring early goals and then finishing teams off so we will have to start the game well."
