The experienced Grange batsman was expected to recover after missing last weekend's defeat to Warwickshire with an achilles injury. However, coach Pete Steindl said: "There is more of a tear than we first thought. Neil is a key player and we want him fit for the I-Cup clash with Afghanistan next week."
Meanwhile, Scotland Lions continued to dominate their three-day match with Warwickshire at Rugby yesterday. They claimed a first innings lead of 137 and will now have to score quick runs to set up a victory chance.
