Man Utd's Vidic staying put says agent

NEMANJA Vidic's agent has dismissed talk of the Manchester United captain leaving Old Trafford.

The 29-year-old Serbia defender has been linked with a move away from England - Juventus the latest club reportedly interested - despite being a key part of Sir Alex Ferguson's side and having three years left on his contract.

However, his agent Silvano Martina has rejected any talk of a summer exit. He told Radio Sportiva: "He's a player that everyone wants.

"I talked to him about a hypothetical transfer and he replied, 'I am the captain of Manchester United, earning well, I've won almost everything. Why should I go to Italy right now, when Italian football is going through a turbulent period?'

"This response removes any doubt about where his future lies - he stays where he is." Vidic joined United from Spartak Moscow in January 2006 and signed a fresh four-year contract last August.

He lifted the Barclays Premier League trophy last month - an English record 19th league title - and led the Red Devils to the Champions League final.
