Madjid Bougherra off to Gulf

MADJID Bougherra is expected to complete his move to Qatar this week after Lekhwiya revealed they have had a £3m offer accepted by Rangers.

The Algerian defender has a year left of his Ibrox contract, but has decided to accept the 35,000-a-week tax-free wages from the Gulf side. Rangers have opted to sell the defender and he will travel to Qatar after the Champions League qualifying tie against Malmo in Sweden.

Bougherra signed from Charlton in July 2008 and helped Rangers to three titles in a row.
