Macdonald secures two-shot Elgin win

Callander’s Gordon Macdonald won the North of Scotland seniors open amateur stroke-play championship at Elgin Golf Club with rounds of 68 and 70 for a total of 138 against a CSS of 71 for both days.

Macdonald headed a field of close on 100, winning by two shots from Rob Smith (Nairn) who had scores of 68 and 72.

Graham Bell of Downfield (70, 72) and Tulliallan’s Bob Stewart (70, 72) tied for third place on 142.
