Lothians defend boys' team title

Lothians made a successful defence of the Dunfermline Building Society Scottish boys' area team golf championship at Hayston Golf Club, Glasgow, yesterday.

It was a record-setting tenth title, but one of the closest with Lothians leading the way with a combined foursomes-singles total of 360, only two shots ahead of runners-up Ayrshire with Fife a close third on 364.

Making up the Lothians team were Anthony Blaney, whose 68 was one of the lowest scores of the day, former Scottish boys champion Grant Forrest, Calum Hill and Lee Morgan.

Fife's bronze winners were Ben Kinsley, Josh Jamieson, Andrew Whyte and Cameron Mitchell.

Anthony Blaney was pipped for the Niagara Cup for the best individual singles score. It was won by Glasgow's Jamie Savage (Cawder), who returned an excellent two-under par 68.
