Lothian starlets named in Scotland squad

Four teenage football prospects from West Lothian have been named in the Scottish Schools under-18 squad, meaning they could be appearing live on television in the coming months.

Jordan Burns from Bo'ness Academy and Connor Shaw from James Young High in Livingston are joined in the party by Dean Shaw from Falkirk High and Alan Lawson from Bathgate Academy.

The quartet are now likely to be involved in the Centenary Shield during March and April.

Scotland open with a trip to Wales on March 18, while the clash with England on April 22 at Pittodrie in Aberdeen will be screened live by Sky Sports.

The young Scots will also host holders the Republic of Ireland in Dumfries and travel to Northern Ireland.

The four boys impressed the coaches during numerous matches for their schools and sealed their places at the final trial at Toryglen in Glasgow on December 23.

The squad had its first match together just before the turn of the year when they went down 2-1 to a Queen's Park under-17/19 squad.
