Lloyd Saltman leads by eight shots on Hi5 Tour

LLOYD Saltman is turning the £25,000 Hacienda De Alamo Open into a procession after taking an eight-shot lead in yesterday's second round in Murcia.

Playing in the Hi5 Tour event in a bid to keep his game sharp for a return to the European Tour in a fortnight's time, the 25-year-old picked up six birdies and an eagle in an eight-under 64 - one less than his opening effort.

Saltman leads from Englishman James Busby heading into the final round, which also features his two brothers. Elliot, serving a three-month ban from the European Tour, birdied the last three holes for a 67 and is lying in a tie for seventh on 140, two less than the youngest of the three siblings, Zack, who had a 72.

Shaun McAllister's gutsy 69 also saw him make the cut, but John Gallagher (152), new pro recruit Ian Redford (154) and Jack Doherty (159) all missed out.
