Livingston close in on East One title

Livingston now know a victory this coming weekend against Berwick would secure them the RBS East One title
after they chalked up another win on Saturday.

Their 57-24 victory over Langholm at Milntown left them five points clear of Preston Lodge at the top, with them having two matches to play and PL only one. In the same division Linlithgow managed to see off North Berwick 18-15 and Dunbar went down 42-27 to Duns.

In East Two Edinburgh Northern lost 36-27 to Gala YM, while East Three saw
title chasing Inverleith win 35-0 at Penicuik. Moray House and Liberton drew 33-33.

Heriot’s were defeated by
Hawick at that stage, while
Accies lost to Gala, who went on to win their own event.

At the Haddington Sevens, Boroughmuir defeated Watsonians in the final.

Meanwhile, there was heartbreak for RHC Cougars women’s team in the Sarah Beaney Cup final at Murrayfield yesterday. A last-minute try from centre Megan Gaffney gave Hillhead/Jordanhill a dramatic 22-20 victory.
