Linlithgow Rose 2 - 0 Newtongrange Star: Rose shoot Stars down

LINLITHGOW went into this match needing a win to keep their faint title hopes alive.

There was controversy after 28 minutes when, as the home side failed to clear their lines, both Hutchison and McCulloch found themselves through on goal with keeper Pinkowski stranded. Hutchison prodded the ball towards goal before McCulloch stepped in and netted only for referee McLennan to indicate the player was offside.

Linlithgow took the lead after 53 minutes but again there was controversy. Herd was impeded by Forbes but still released Tommy Coyne down the right. Coyne found Livingstone who scrambled the ball over the line despite protests that the ball had not actually gone in. To add to Newtongrange's woes Forbes was shown a red card for his exchange with the referee.
