Linlithgow in the freeze frame

SCOTTISH Cup holders Linlithgow came out of cold storage to thump Armadale 5-0 in a friendly yesterday, but could be back kicking their heels when the Junior programme bids to get up and running again this weekend.

Dave Baikie's side are due to entertain Auchinleck in the tie of the day in the third round of the Emirates Junior Cup on Saturday but Prestonfield is not recovering from the snow and ice as quickly as some other grounds. "Despite the thaw, there is still a significant amount of ice and hard-packed snow covering a large area of the pitch, so please check before travelling this Saturday," states the Lithgae website.

Baikie had arranged a friendly against Arthurlie yesterday but that fell to the weather so Rose played Armadale instead at the Little Kerse complex. The East Region Super League leaders scored thanks to a Tommy Coyne hat-trick and strikes from Roddy MacLennan and Stuart McArthur.
