Linlithgow face tough route in Cup

LINLITHGOW look as though they are going to have to do it the hard way if they want to make a successful defence of the Emirates Junior Cup.

Narrow winners over Clydebank in their opening test in this season's competition, Dave Baikie's side are still waiting to entertain Ayrshire giants Auchinleck in a third-round tie delayed due to the bad weather.

And, if they win that one, Linlithgow will then be away to either Lochore or Cumnock following the fourth-round draw made yesterday at Hampeden.

No third-round ties have been played yet, but Bonnyrigg's incentive to beat Pumpherston will be another home tie against either Banchory or Vale of Leven.

And, if Edinburgh United can pull off a shock at home to Arthurlie, they'll be away to Glenrothes or Tranent.

Draw: Larkhall or Greenock v Newtongrange Star or Beith; Lochee Harp or Lugar v Haddington or Rosyth; Glenrothes or Tranent v Edinburgh or Arthurlie; Lochore or Cumnock v Linlithgow Rose or Auchinleck Talbot; Whitehills or Dunbar v Tayport or Petershill; Bonnyrigg or Pumpherston v Banchory or Vale of Leven; Sunnybank or Perthshire v Sauchie or Cambuslang; St Andrews or Ardrossan v Culter or Broxburn; Shotts or Bellshill v Yoker or Bo'ness; Blantyre or Broughty v Stoneyburn or Musselburgh. (Games to be played on Saturday, January 22 with a 1.45pm kick-off)
