Lightning strikes twice for Graham

GRAHAM ROBERTSON proved last year's Turnhouse Open win was no flash in the pan as he won last night's final following concerns about lightning earlier in the day.

Up against his Silverknowes team-mate Keith Reilly, the defending champion drew first blood when his opponent found trouble at the third,

The next three holes were all were halved in pars but wayward driving from Reilly then let Robertson build a four-hole lead by the time they reached the turn.

Reilly rallied with birdies at the 11th and 13th as well a hole-winning par at the 15th to reduce the deficit to one.

Both players had pars at the 16th and 17th, leaving Robertson one up as they boarded the final tee. His second shot finished just short of the green while Reily found a greenside bunker.

But, after splashing out to 20 feet, he holed the ball, leaving Robertson having to hold his nerve as he knocked in a four-footer to make it two in a row.
