Leishman stays at Dunfermline

JIM Leishman said yesterday he has no intentions of quitting as Dunfermline manager after winning a tough battle against relegation.

Ahead of tonight's game against Dundee United at Tannadice, the veteran manager said: "Why should I quit? I haven't said I don't enjoy the scrap down here. Football is my life."

ROSS County manager Scott Leitch has ditched three players and placed four on the transfer list. Lionel Djebi Zadi, Stuart Garden and Alex Burke can all go, while Jim Lauchlan, David Cowan, David Winters and Gary McSwegan are for sale.

ROSS County forward John Rankin has won the Digby Brown/Scottish Professional Footballers' Association Player of The Year for the Bell's First Division. The Second Division award goes to Gretna's James Grady, while the Third Division recipient is Markus Paatelainen, the Cowdenbeath striker.

STEVE Paterson has resigned as manager of Highland League side Forres.

Rothes manager Gordon Winton is to take over from Paterson.

McMinn tribute

MORE than 33,000 fans turned out for former Rangers winger Ted McMinn's benefit match at Derby yesterday, with an estimated 10,000 travelling from Scotland.

A Derby XI drew 3-3 with a Rangers XI, for whom Gordon Durie scored two and Ally McCoist one.
