Laura slips to Lino defeat

Laura ROBSON was unable to celebrate reaching a career-best ranking as she lost in the first round of the Katowice Open.

The 19-year-old was beaten in three sets by Lourdes Dominguez Lino, although the manner of her defeat will not please her. Having reached 39th in the world yesterday – overtaking Heather Watson as the British No. 1 – Robson recovered from a poor start to take the first set 7-5.

She lost the second 7-6, 
losing a thrilling tie-break to seven, but then collapsed in the 
deciding set, losing out 6-1 to the Spanish player.
