Late Tayport strike denies Bathgate maximum points

Tayport opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when Robbie Henderson cashed in on a defensive error and blasted a 25-yard shot past keeper Lunn into the corner of the net.

The keeper denied the same player three minutes later.

In the 39th minute, Alex Lurinsky produced a great run down the right before pulling the ball back to Lee Johnstone whose shot hit Ferrie's right-hand post giving Marco Andreoni the easiest of tap-ins to level the scores.

In the 66th minute Tayport were reduced to ten men when Stuart Ferguson was shown a second yellow card for a crude tackle on Alex Lurinsky.

Five minutes from the end of normal time Thistle appeared to have claimed all three points when they went ahead when Gary Fallon shot the ball into the Tayport net from 15 yards but two minutes later the visitors were level. A Tayport corner was headed clear by Colin Leiper but it fell to Derek Wemys who blasted it past Lunn into the net.

Thistle piled on the pressure in the closing minutes but Tayport held firm for the clubs to share the points.
