Kylie Walker weathers the storm at Great Bear

SLOVAK WOMEN'S OPEN: Scotland's Kylie Walker claimed a top-25 finish at an Allianz Ladies' Slovak Open that was reduced to 54 holes due to a stormy Saturday at the Great Bear course in Tale, Slovakia.

Walker, in her second season on the Ladies' European Tour, closed with a 70 for a two-over-par total as Swede Caroline Hedwall, the leading qualifier at this season's Tour School, snatched her first professional victory with an impressive 11-under-par score for the three days. Hedwall opened with a 71 and then shot two rounds of 67 - she had seven birdies in the five under final round - and won by two strokes from Holland's Christel Boeljon, who romped through the field with a 64.

Walker, whose best result this season was a tie for 15th in Morocco in March, had three birdies in the final five holes to tie for 25th and passed Scot Vikki Laing, who finished on six over par after a disappointing final-day 79. Clare Queen was the third Scot to make the cut and she finished on eight over after a 77.
