Kris Nicol top Scot in Brabazon Trophy

KRIS Nicol claimed a share of tenth in the Brabazon Trophy at Burnham & Berrow.

The Fraserburgh golfer posted rounds of 77, 71 73 and 72 for a nine-over 293 and finished behind Hampshire's Neil Raymond, who won the title by a stroke on a 287. Colville Park's Ross Kellett, meanwhile, finished the competition in a tie for 11th on 294 while Philip McLean of Peterhead ended up in the top 20 with a 306. James Byrne from Banchory, runner-up in last year's Amateur championship, had to settle for a share of 55th on 304.
