Kris Boyd joins Turkish side Eskisehirspor

MIDDLESBROUGH striker Kris Boyd has left the club to join Turkish side Eskisehirspor after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old Scotland international departed on a free transfer following a disappointing spell on Teesside, Middlesbrough announced.

Boyd arrived in the north-east last summer when then-manager Gordon Strachan hoped the man who was a scoring hit at Rangers would provide the goals for a push for promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

However, he managed just six goals for the club and spent the end of the season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Eskisehirspor were founded in 1965 and gained promotion to the top flight in 2008.
