Klitschko retains his WBC crown

VITALI Klitschko beat challenger Albert Sosnowski by technical knock-out in Germany last night, leaving the Pole dazed and ending his bid to become his country's first heavyweight champion.

Towering over his lighter opponent, Klitschko clinched a successful defence of his WBC title when the fight was called off in the tenth round.

France's Souleymane M'Baye clinched the WBA welterweight title by beating Canadian Antonin Decarie with a unanimous points decision.

Elsewhere, Gary Sykes retained his British super-featherweight title with a unanimous points decision win over Kevin O'Hara.

The Yorkshire fighter, who won the vacant title in March, picked him off his Northern Ireland opponent from range.
