Kirkwood new chair of LGU

GILLIAN Kirkwood, a former chairwoman of the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association who lives in Gullane, is the chairwoman of the Ladies Golf Union.

The former Edinburgh University graduate, who succeeds interim chairwoman Beryl Davies and will serve for three years, is a past LGU Councillor and chair of the international selection committee. "I am committed to working to protect the legacy the LGU has inherited and to meet the expectations of the LGU held by the golfing community," she said. "The LGU has a major role to play in encouraging golf at all levels and must remain as the strong voice for Ladies Golf."
