King marks 21st game with warning

JAMES KING will come of age as an Edinburgh Rabo Direct Pro 12 player in Munster tonight warning of a possible backlash from the reigning champions.

Centre King, who makes his 21st league appearance, was a member of the Capital side that dispatched Munster 29-14 at Murrayfield in September.

He says: “They are going to want to get one back on us.”

However, King is no stranger to Limerick’s Thomond Park where 20,000 watched last season as Munster finished strongly to beat Edinburgh 23-13. And he feels this match was one that got away. “We should have won last time because we played really well until losing a couple of runaway tries at the end. Munster are very streetwise and very physical. Key is the breakdown where there’s been a big emphasis in training.

“We have to be realistic, we leaked 47 points last week and on any other day we probably would have lost. Edinburgh are renowned as a good attacking side and if we can add defence to that we can do well.

“If we go to Munster looking to chuck the ball around it isn’t going to happen for us.”
